The second piece in a closely related pair, this original SIMCO engineering pattern mould carries the same structural DNA as R1- yet tells its own story through wear, markings, and surface detail.

Centred around a raised, frame-like construction, this piece draws the eye inward, creating depth and shadow against the original faded red workshop paint. The layered structure gives it a strong architectural presence, while the worn edges and exposed wood reveal decades of use.

Faint handwritten markings across the surface include “Slipper Bases 2024-2” and “B16-2-2,” while the piece is more boldly marked with “TS-3.” The “1-B” marking is partially obscured by black paint drips, adding a raw, unfiltered quality that speaks to its working life.

Etched into the darker plate, the wording “Simco Slipper Base 2024/2 TS 3” is more clearly visible on this piece, offering a stronger link to its original engineering purpose.

Compared to R1, this piece feels slightly more intact and defined, making the pair especially compelling when styled together – one showing wear and breakage, the other clarity and structure.
