Description

This bold industrial wall hanging is an authentic wooden engineering pattern mould used roughly 60 years ago in the manufacturing of mining machine components.

The mould retains its original red factory paint, beautifully worn and chipped over time, giving it a rich industrial patina that cannot be replicated.

A distinctive projecting rectangular block sits at the centre, marked with “SIMCO ADJ SLIPPER BASE”, with the pattern code B62-2-2 hand written onto the surface. The mould number 1-A can also be seen at the top.

Constructed from solid wood with small metal edge fittings, this piece has the strong, mechanical presence typical of historic foundry equipment.

It can be mounted on a wall using a sturdy bolt, or styled leaning against a wall for a dramatic industrial decor statement.

A genuine one-of-a-kind object – pattern moulds were never produced as decorative items, making surviving examples rare pieces of industrial history.
