Description
These wall hanging ornaments were found from one of our collections of smaller, old engineering pattern moulds. This pair was used to make a part called a thrust rod, and has “rod head” etched onto the one piece. The other piece has a small bottom bit missing. They can brighten up a patch of wall.
The collection is all shapes and sizes, and in a bright fire-engine red, with black finishes. We estimate them to be between 40 and 70 years old! We salvaged these wood pattern moulds, as well as hundreds of metal circlips, from an old engineering factory.
The circlips are screwed onto the pieces, helping each mould hang flat against the wall.
Wood Type: Believed to be meranti wood.
Dimensions of this wall décor for each piece:
- Height: 16.8 cm for wood, with circlip is 22.3cm
- Width: at widest is 17.6cm
- Depth: 5 cm
- Weight: 4.95.2 grams and 479.8 grams
