Description
This one-of-a-kind industrial wall hanging is part of our distinctive “Barrel Range” – a collection of salvaged wooden pattern moulds believed to have originally been used in the casting of pulleys or heavy mechanical components.
With its layered cylindrical form, warm aged timber, and beautifully weathered patina, the piece has a strong sculptural presence while still feeling grounded and organic. The original raised L117 numbering remains attached to the surface, preserving part of its engineering history and workshop identity.
Mounted flush to the wall using a salvaged industrial circlip, the piece appears to float slightly off the surface, enhancing its dimensional character and shadow lines.
Its shape makes it especially striking in:
- Industrial and contemporary interiors
- Lodges and hospitality spaces
- Masculine offices or studies
- Feature walls needing warmth and texture
Whether displayed alone or grouped with others from the Barrel Range, this is a conversation-starting piece that celebrates the beauty of South Africa’s industrial heritage.
