The cylindrical form features four distinct drilled holes across the front face, adding visual rhythm and mechanical character, while faint original workshop handwriting appears across the timber surface. Though partially worn with age, markings appear to reference:
“SIMCO Bush”
“Patt / Pattern”
On the reverse, the piece reveals a striking contrast between the original red-painted timber sides and a black-painted central backing section, with bold workshop notation reading: “F2-2-1”
The combination of aged timber, worn paint, exposed fixing points, and layered workshop markings creates a beautifully tactile object that feels both sculptural and historic.
A reclaimed circlip has been incorporated as the hanging mechanism, allowing the piece to sit flush against the wall while preserving its industrial integrity and story.
