A beautifully weathered piece of industrial history, this original engineering pattern mould was used approximately 60 years ago in the production of mining machinery components.
This piece features a distinctive layered grey-over-red finish, worn back over time to reveal the original paint beneath, creating a rich, textured patina that reflects its working life.
The design is defined by a balanced grid of raised cross-like mechanical forms, giving it a structured and symmetrical presence. The handwritten “2A” marking is clearly visible, along with traces of “SIMCO ENG”, while a subtle “R1” in gold pen adds a unique identifier from its time in use.
Crafted from solid wood with metal fittings and mounting points, it retains the authenticity and character of its industrial origins.
This piece can be mounted on a wall using a sturdy bolt, or styled leaning for a more relaxed, curated display.
