Crank Shark – sculpture

Tapered roller bearings out of a steering head from a KTM300, inspired this sculpture of a shark.

The head is a crank pin of a single cylinder 450, and the rest of the sculpture is made from various bushers, spacers, a chain and sprocket.  The fins are from sheet metal off cuts.

The head was extremely difficult to shape being such hard metal. The mouth area was filled up by welding a pin in there and shaping it.

Sean spent about 5 months working on this.  “It’s a beautiful looking creature that I hope to never bump into” he shares. He sees the shark as a sign of extreme power, just as he sees a single cylinder 43150 dirt bike, which he no longer rides because he has too much respect for its power.
