Description

A sculptural and character-rich piece of industrial history, this original engineering pattern mould was used approximately 40 to 60 years ago in the production of mining machinery components.

Finished in its original red factory paint, the surface carries authentic wear, markings, and patina – layers of use that reflect its time in a working engineering environment.

The design features a vertical arrangement of circular forms, centred around a distinctive curved, contoured block that introduces a softer, more organic shape into the otherwise mechanical composition. A side-mounted arm detail adds balance and reinforces its functional origins.

Etched into the wood is “Shaft End Housing Seal 2023-4”, clearly linking the piece to its original purpose, while the bold handwritten “1-A” anchors it with its factory identification.

Subtle layout lines and worn markings remain visible across the surface, adding depth and authenticity.

Crafted from solid wood with metal fittings and mounting points, it retains the rugged integrity of its industrial past.

This piece can be mounted on a wall using a sturdy bolt, or styled leaning against a wall for a bold, curated look.
