Description
A bold and sculptural piece of industrial history, this original engineering pattern mould (part of a pair) was used approximately 40 to 60 years ago in the production of mining machinery components.
Finished in its original red factory paint, the surface carries authentic wear, markings, and patina from decades of use, giving it depth, texture, and a strong sense of story.
The design is defined by its large circular cut-out form, creating a striking visual focal point. The bold handwritten “C/W” marking at the centre enhances its graphic, almost symbolic presence, making it stand out as both industrial artefact and statement wall art.
Etched into the wood are partially worn factory markings, including “Simco Eng Counter … T8” and “88 M 16”, alongside handwritten “Simco Eng” and “2-B” – subtle traces of its original function and identity.
Crafted from solid wood with metal fittings and mounting points, it retains the rugged integrity of its industrial origins.
This piece can be mounted on a wall using a sturdy bolt, or styled leaning against a wall for a bold, curated look.
A true one-of-a-kind statement piece, this is authentic industrial decor – graphic, sculptural, and rich in history.
