We found this typewriter at the old engineering factory. Now it has a new forever home! This model is called ‘magic’ because of the special margin feature it had. (We found this out when cleaning it – see our blog here).
We believe this model was made in 1938, and the Royal Typewriter Company website says:
“The Royal Typewriter Company manufactured this Royal Magic Margin typewriter around 1940. The typewriter’s patented Magic Margin design allowed the typist to set both the left and right hand margins with a simple push of a lever. With easy margin-switching, the Royal KMM could easily address envelopes, tabulate figures, and create tables.”
This vintage typewriter will make a great decor talking piece and display item in a lounge or office.
